There are not enough words to describe this incredible gelding, he has truly changed our lives and given us some of the best memories we will cherish forever. He is the true definition of a unicorn, those once in a lifetime horses that rarely come around, that’s him.
Coon is absolutely jaw dropping in the looks department. He has that deep rich dark sorrel color with a little roaning across his belly. On his face he has cutest star and snip combo along with a long mane and tail. He is big boned, strong bodied, and built for longevity. He is sired by Not Ruf At All, he has lifetime earnings of $456,530 and progeny earnings of $2.6 Million to date.
He is out Gunners Easter Lilly, she is by the great Colonels Smoking Gun and has progeny earnings of $49,700+.
Coon himself has made his mark in the show pen earning $25,851.45 and has a resume a mile long. Coon is a huge stopper, easiest to lead change, seamless spins, and circles nicely. He started off his career strong making the Level 4 Non Pro Finals at the NRHA Futurity. He then went on to mark multiple 218 scores his derby year at the Adequan and Buckeye shows. Since then he has went on to teach multiple youth, green, and rookie riders and all while giving them confidence. Coon won the 2024 Derby Prime Time Championship, 2025 Cactus Reining Classic Novice Horse Open Level 3 Championship, and 2025 Colorado Rocky Mountain Ride N Slide Green Level Championship. He took his rider to the 2025 The Run For A Million Rookie Level and placed 11th out of 100+ entries. He is still competing at the highest level in the green and rookie, consistently marking 72. He would make a great short stirrup, youth, green, rookie, and non pro novice horse for anyone wanting to go to the winners circle. One of the best things about Coon is he can step it up for a more experienced rider and come back down for a youth rider. He is sound and ready to show.
His career does not stop in the show pen, he has been trail ridden extensively and is the most willing partner to have. Coon goes over all the obstacles with ease, through all depths of water, and all types of terrain. He is traffic safe to vehicles, scooters, segways, side by sides, etc. We have started teaching him to do some of the Ranch Versatility stuff by walking and trotting over the poles. Also setting the poles up for him to back up through. He does the extended lope and trot and easily transitions to slower, he is a beautiful mover. Everything comes second nature to him and he would make a top notch versatility horse.
The places he has taken us and things he has taught us, are irreplaceable, but we will cherish the memories forever. He is ready to take his next rider to the winners circle, like he has done for every single rider who has showed him.
