Meet Toad!
This sweet bay Welsh pony gelding is the definition of safe, steady, and dependable. He is 11 years old, old enough to be incredibly settled and sane- and young enough to last your kiddos and grandkids as long as they want to ride. Standing at 50” tall, Toad is the perfect size kids pony, and hands-down the safest and most reliable we’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.
As parents, we know there’s nothing more valuable than peace of mind when it comes to turning your kids loose on their own pony.
Toad gives you exactly that. He’s the one you can saddle up, hand the reins to your child, and breathe easy knowing he’s going to take care of them every single time. He’s patient, honest, and never gets sour. He just quietly does his job and makes kids feel like champions.
Before coming to us, Toad spent his life as an Amish family school pony, faithfully toting children to school every day- sometimes in a buggy, sometimes in a wagon, sometimes with a little one on his back. That daily work gave him a lifetime of exposure and an unshakable foundation. He’s seen it all; traffic, dogs, farm equipment, bicycles, busy roads- and handles everything with quiet confidence. He drives beautifully, is excellent and easy to guide, and is just as steady under saddle! He has had invaluable experience, and it shows in every quiet step.
On the trail, in the arena, or just poking around the pasture, Toad is a steady-eddy. He’ll cross water, step over logs, ride alone or in a group, and he never rushes or gets fussy. He’s the kind of pony who makes both beginner riders and seasoned horsemen appreciate just how rare he is. He is point-and-shoot style, user friendly and honest as the day is long. He’s given more than a few lessons, and he instills calmness with his easy going attitude.
On the ground, he’s just as kind. Easy to catch, happy to be groomed, stands for the farrier and vet, patient with little hands brushing and fussing over him. He loves attention and is always gentle and kind.
Toad is the kind you hang on to forever. He wouldn’t be for sale- except for the fact that we already have an old sentimental pony for our family, and we know Toad deserves to go make another set of kids as happy and safe as he’s made ours, their cousins and various other kids who have shown up and needed to feel safe for their first ride!
If your checklist includes safe, sound, sweet, beginner-proof, and PARENT APPROVED, Toad checks every single box!!
He’s a once-in-a-lifetime pony, the kind parents dream of for their children. These are SO rare, and I highly suggest not letting this one get away.
He sells 100% sound with a completed Pre-Purchase Exam from Todd County Animal Clinic (Dr. John Laster, DVM).
