Dutton is a 2023 model 14.2h blue roan Gypsy Vanner cross gelding. This darling boy is quiet and gentle and kind, while still having grand presence. He is the slow-moving, easy going type that just about anyone can get along with. Dutton has an incredible conformation and is maturing beautifully. He wears a gorgeous heavy mane and tail, striking ears and just enough feather to be fancy without being high maintenance. He comes with a strong foundation, rides around on a loose neck rein, has a great stop and back, lopes off with a kiss and has the natural headset of one bred for Western pleasure. His gaits are downright dreamy - he has a sweet soft jog and rocking chair lope. Dutton makes every ride and every encounter an enjoyable one.
Dutton is broke to ride English and Western. He is highly adaptable and will ride in a snaffle on the buckle or bareback in a halter. In the arena, Dutton is calm and refined. He has a great brain and is a very quick study, he picks up the correct leads, is light in the bridle and moves off of leg pressure nicely - we believe he would excel in any show ring. We typically do not train our youngsters over the jumps, but will let them pop over once or twice to test their willingness and Dutton did not hesitate or refuse the approach one time.
Out on the trails, Dutton takes in his new surroundings with confidence. He crosses the water and the logs, bravely goes anywhere you point him, and stands peaecfully while you chat with your friends. He has excellent ground manners, cross ties quietly and loves a good bath. Dutton stands still to be mounted from the block or the ground, loads on the trailer with ease and stands quietly for the farrier. He has been exposed to cattle, chickens and barn cats aplenty and nothing fazes him. Dutton will carry the flag, kick the ball, trot poles and try anything new that is asked of him with no complaint - he is a good, honest gelding, the kind you can build any future you want with. Dutton is an easy keeper and currently on a forage only diet. He is barefoot and has good hard feet. He sells sound and UTD.
