5 Year Old Finished All Around Mare | Ranching Heritage Eligible
We are extremely proud to offer Shine, a 5 year old mare we raised and started entirely in house. Shine is the definition of a finished, proven, all around horse the kind that’s hard to find and even harder to replace.
Shine has been extensively used outside and knows a full day’s work. She has doctored calves, gathered pairs, pulled cows in the trailer, worked the feedlot and sale barns, and has even shagged bulls at bull ridings. She is a finished head and heel horse, capable in 7–12 slide, and has been used at rodeos. She is strong to the horn, works the rope correctly, and is truly cowy, with plenty of grit when it’s time to work.
Beyond the ranch and arena, Shine is patterned on the barrels, solid on the trails, and has carried flags at rodeos. She is our go to horse for starting colts, steady, confident, and trustworthy. One of the biggest testaments to her mind she was flagging colts on her very first day under saddle.
Shine is fancy broke with a true “joystick” handle, extremely responsive yet forgiving. She stays the same whether she’s ridden every day or has time off. She is currently being ridden and used by our 10 year old son and serves as our lesson horse, packing kids safely and confidently, yet she’s capable enough for experienced riders to go right to work.

She is easy to haul, eats and drinks on the road, and self-loads simply saddle her, ask her to step on, and she goes to the front. When you’re done, open the door and ask her to back out no need to step in the trailer. She’ll open and close gates on her own, stands tied or stalled quietly, and is an easy keeper.
Shine can stay barefoot or be shod, hauls and turns out well with mares or geldings, and is not a mareish mare. She requires absolutely no maintenance.
