Preacher is one of those horses that leaves an impact on everyone he meets. He is trustworthy, kind and game for anything thrown at him. At just 6 years old, this dun gelding acts like a been there, done that type of guy. Preacher was raised in a family setting so he is experienced with all kinds of shenanigans! Kids want to jump off of him into the pool? No problem. Fly a drone off of his butt? Cool, let’s do it. Dogs, tractors, side by sides, dirt bikes and other livestock? He’s seen it all. He was started on a ranch so he is also used to ropes, opening gates, and absolutely loves to work cattle. He’s even helped halter break colts and keeps a level head in all scenarios. He is a fantastic trail horse and walks along on a loose rein, in the front or back, alone or with others. He’ll happily trot down the trail with other horses as well without getting excited or forward. Preacher will carry the flag, pick you up off of the fence for mounting, rides bareback in a halter and my personal favorite… he comes running from out in the pasture when you call his name. He doesn’t just have a lot of mane, he has a lot of personality too! Preacher is the kind of gelding that truly enjoys every moment spent with his people. I’m sure he would come in the house with us if he could! He is friendly, sweet and respectful and keeps us laughing all the time. He’s our class clown of the barn! Preacher rides one or two handed, lopes off on the correct leads, moves off of your leg, and stops when you say woah. He stands tied quietly, loves baths, and loads and hauls nicely. He is barefoot with great feet and requires no maintenance. Standing at 15.1 hands tall he is the ideal size, and has great bone to him to last a long time. He is traffic safe and has been ridden through town as well. There really isn’t anything to dislike about Preacher except for the chunk of tail he pulled out! It is growing back well and he still has some length to it, but it is thin currently. Preacher has no vices or bad habits, and is a joy to have around. Trustworthy, gentle horses like him don’t come around too often. He has certainly made an impact on us, and I cannot wait to see the happiness he brings to his new person or family!
