For more details and to register visit: www.Horsebid.com CONSIGNOR CONTACT: CM Farms 717-875-2061 LOCATION: Gap, PA BREED: Brabant/QH X REGISTERED: No COLOR: Red Roan HEIGHT: 16.1 AGE: 4 GENDER: Gelding Meet ✨Huxley✨, a 4-year-old Brabant/QHx gelding standing right at 16.1–16.2hh. This handsome man is built right — he has all the curves, excellent conformation, and the personality and skill to match. You wouldn’t believe he’s only 4 years old given his calm, unwavering personality and his talent under saddle. Huxley rides Western, English, bareback, and he drives — and he does not take a wrong step, ever. Huxley has the mind of your old schoolmaster — he’s never in a hurry, he’s dependable, and he’s wise beyond his years. This perfect boy is suitable for any level of rider. He’s a push ride, and while he will teach the kids leg, he knows when an experienced person is on him and will pick up the pace to have a good time. He’s athletic and has endless potential in every discipline. He’s the kind of horse you can hang out with in the stall for hours, or pull out once a month and he’ll act the same — happy to see you, reliable, and in your pocket. In the ring, Huxley is talented and smart. He has already learned to leg yield, sidepass, and spin — and he’ll do it arguably better than your old pro. 😉 He has walk-to-canter transitions both ways and absolutely lovely, slow movement that’s comfortable for anyone’s aches and pains. He’s like sitting on a couch — but not so wide that you’re doing the splits. He’s sturdy enough for the husband or grandpa to take for a spin, and athletic enough to pop over cross rails or take out cross-country. He hasn’t done too much jumping at this age; however, the jumps we have introduced him to, he takes correctly and honestly with cute knees every time. He would make a fantastic foxhunter, one to take on paper chases, or just that reliable husband/guest horse you need in your barn. Huxley is fantastic and unflappable in every way. On the trail, Huxley has packed a variety of riders and is always happy to get out and see the views. He has a little more pep in his step outside the ring and truly seems like he’s enjoying himself. He’s well-behaved in a group — he’ll lead, follow, or go in the middle of the pack without causing drama. He has been over bridges, up and down mountains, in lakes, and through creeks, and he never hesitates. He’s the type you can crack a beer on- and he’ll even share it with you! If you want a safe, solid horse to enjoy your time with — here’s your guy. He has been desensitized to tarps, flags, equipment, traffic, bikes, dogs, deer, and other wildlife, and will even go down the highway without thinking twice. He rides away from the barn and other horses and gives you a feeling of confidence — like you’re on top of the world when you’re on him. He’s such an exceptional young horse that it’s hard to put into words just how special he is. He’s curious, dependable, and has a personality you will immediately fall in love with. Huxley will be your once-in-a-lifetime — the kind you can’t replace. Under harness, Huxley is confident and level-headed. He drives better than horses that have been under harness for ten years. He was born quiet, with a sensibility you simply can’t train. He drives the carriage single or double and has been hooked to various farm equipment. He’s already educated under harness enough to take into the show ring. He behaves the same off-property in new environments as he does at home in his everyday routine. We don’t generally recommend young horses to beginner drivers; however, this is one that’s suitable for anyone. He is safe. He’s had semi-trucks coming at him from both directions and never faltered. He is truly magnificent under harness — the perfect type to learn on and grow with. In the barn, Huxley will be your best friend. He’ll greet you in the pasture and always checks your pockets for treats. He’s sweet, cuddly, and exceptionally well-behaved. He stands quietly to groom, tack up, and bathe, and he’s behaved for both the farrier and the vet. He’s one you never have to worry about — polite in his stall and in turnout. He’s an easy keeper and will load right up into any trailer. He doesn’t mind loud kids or dogs running around his feet, and he’ll even happily give lead line rides to the littles. He’s truly so special, and if we had an extra stall for a personal horse, he’d be staying with us forever. This is an amazing opportunity to get a lovely young horse with truly zero vices — one to spend a lifetime with.
