Safe, sound, and backed by a 10-day guarantee! Freckles is a very quiet gelding that has been a pleasure to train. He is a fantastic trail horse and is a great fit for the entire family. If you can hold the reins, you can ride freckles! Above all, he is safe and takes care of his rider. You can expect an honest ride from him every time you step into the saddle, even after extended time off. Freckles has been used to trail ride and has been used to pasture rope. He has been in my program for over 5 months, where he has been given periods of extended time off. We are confident in his training and love his disposition. Freckles lopes nice circles, correctly taking his leads on cue. He has a nice stop, and is very soft in the bridle with a true one-handed neck rein. He will side pass, work a gate, cross downed timber, walk through water without hesitation or avoidance, and has great agility when maneuvering in mud or uneven footing. He is used to cattle, small livestock, other horses, small pets, children, traffic, even farm equipment and semis! Freckles is the type that is more whoa than go; but if you ask him, he is willing to work for you. With more training, he has all of the ability to be a low-level heel horse. Our favorite thing about him is how genuine, dependable and easy going he is! During his photo session, we were able to do everything without a halter or string on him - he is that honest.
Freckles is easy to shoe, easy to bathe, and stands quietly to be braided/groomed and tacked, loads and hauls easily, and will back out of a trailer. When turned out, he gets along well whether he is alone or with pasture mates. Freckles also stalls well. He is fairly easy to catch when he is turned out and is very easy to catch with feed.
