Tadpole is a 14.2 hand 2010 model registered sorrel gelding that defines what “been there and done that” is supposed to look like. He is not a horse that learned his job in pieces, he’s one that’s lived it day in and day out. From long days at the stockyards to every phase of ranch work, his experience has come from doing the kind of work that builds a horse right, and he carries that kind of honesty and dependability with him every day. He handles cattle with confidence and takes care of business wherever he’s asked. Gates, alleys, commotion, pressure, it’s all just part of the routine to him. He carries the same level head and ease no matter where you point him. Tadpole is dependable on the trail, comfortable through town, and polished in the arena with a handle that feels natural the moment you pick up the reins. Outside, he is the kind you can put your foot in the stirrup and go, whether you’re headed out alone or in a group. He crosses water, logs, ditches, and uneven terrain without hesitation, picks his way through rough country with a sure foot, and stays quiet in new places or unfamiliar surroundings. He’s the same horse leaving the barn as he is miles down the trail, content to just go along at whatever pace you ask. In the arena, he has a big stop when you so much as whisper “whoa,” rolls through a turnaround with balance and purpose, and stays soft and collected without effort.
