Bourbon is the type of mule that every family needs. If you can hold the reins, you can ride him. He is as honest as the day is long. Above all, Bourbon is gentle and safe, he has absolutely earned our trust. He suits any rider, from beginner to advanced and everything in between. Bourbon is 11 years old, and the perfect age for a seasoned trail mount. He is absolutely safe and has more experience out on the trails than Lewis & Clark. At 14h he is easy to get on, but he will also stand at a mounting block or log to be mounted. Bourbon will walk, trot, and lope in both leads correctly. He rides under saddle as well as bareback, with a bit or a war bridle. He is a trooper when it comes to our obstacles and horseplay, amicably allowing us to be entertained whether riding double or playing with the ball! He is a mature John mule that is put together as nicely as you could ask for, and his chrome is the cherry on top. Bourbon is like the whiskey he is named after; he just keeps getting better with time.
Bourbon will cross downed timber, water, and anything you could imagine finding out on the trails. He is used to small pets, wildlife, and all types of weather. He has been on many overnight camping trips. He rides quietly inside and outside. Bourbon loads and hauls well and has even been hauled in a slant load trailer. He gets along with other pasture mates, is easy to catch, bridles easily, stands quietly to be clipped, and is a gentleman when having his feet and ears handled. Bourbon is truly the mule that will get along with any level or age of rider. Anyone! He has a kind eye, and a sweet disposition.
