Elegant Hanoverian Gelding – Promising Dressage Prospect

This impressive dark chestnut gelding, born in 2021, combines exceptional movement potential with lots of expression and an outstanding work ethic. Notably, he has a very active hind leg in all gaits, including piaffe and passage, and a beautiful uphill canter. His trot is also characterized by great elasticity and knee action. Despite his size, he is incredibly gentle to ride and always eager to please.

The gelding has achieved a placement in dressage horse class A. He already performs simple transitions such as turn on the forehand, rein-back, and basic flying changes with confidence. In the extended canter, he still needs a bit more strength and balance but is on a good development path. Flying changes are being introduced playfully.

He was born here on the farm, raised in a herd environment, and has been in training from the beginning. The breeder’s vetting resulted in no objections.

Thanks to his excellent basic qualities, quick comprehension, and consistent willingness to learn, he is ready for the next steps.

His sire, Barcelo OLD, is the Nürnberger Burgpokal winner 2024 and has already qualified for the Louisdor Prize final this year, winning under Dorothee Schneider. He combines the rideability of Bon Coeur with the elegance of the Trakehner stallion Caprimond.  
His dam, “Ikone,” was herself a Verden auction foal and successful in dressage horse class L (later used for breeding). She descends from the Stamm 3191603 Mafenda.
