Ilex ist ein ca 150 cm großer Pintabian Wallach (arabische Abstammung), der bis 105 cm im Springen platziert ist und dressurmäßig bis E ausgebildet ist. Er war/ist immer kerngesund, aber bei Interesse kann natürlich eine AKU gemacht werden. Beim Ausreiten ist Ilex unkompliziert, geht gerne ins Wasser und ist auch beim Galopp übers Stoppelfeld immer leicht händelbar. Er ist sowohl im Umgang, als auch beim Reiten Kinder gewohnt und ausnahmslos freundlich und ausgeglichen. Er ist sehr herdenverträglich und eher rangniedrig. Natürlich ist Ilex absolut verlade- und schmiedefromm, hat keine Unarten oder Sommerexzem usw. Er ist barhuf und hat bis jetzt dank seinen stabilen Hufen auch beim ausreiten keine hufschuhe gebraucht.
