Meet spade, a big athletic friesian cross gelding with an incredibly friendly personality standing 16.2 hands, and only 6yrs old- a perfect age, old enough to know but young enough to excel into whatever you desire. Spade is such a unique gelding with such desirable qualities. He has the biggest personality and loves everyone. He will always be the first to meet you at the gate, he truly loves to just be hanging around his human friends, soaking up all the attention. When it comes to riding, he always has such a willing attitude and patient mind to learn whatever is thrown his way. Spade listens nicely to leg cues and has a beautiful collected movement about him. He has a good stop and will also side pass both directions. He is extremely confident. He will ride out alone without any hesitation, or he does good in a group too. He is very surefooted- he will cross water and manage his way through tough terrain safely. With us Spade has been exposed to cattle by helping us sort and load out trucks, he has helped work/gather colts out in the pasture. We have also trail rode him often. Out on the trails he is confident and isn’t easily spooked at wildlife, noisy farm equipment, or busy roadways. Spade is very fit and his athleticism is very impressive. In the right hands with a confident rider, I feel Spade would excel wonderfully into an English type setting and could do big things going in that direction of riding. On the ground he is easy to catch, bathe, and groom. He is also great for the farrier, and loads in and out of a trailer nicely. Spade will also side pass over to you for easy mounting. Spade may be a big guy, but he has an even bigger heart with tons of desire to please you.
Spade is 100% sound and has a very recent PPE. He is also up to date on farrier work.
