DELUXE FAMILY HORSE. Specializing in Ranch Riding, Sugar has helped countless novice and beginner riders build a strong foundation in horsemanship, guiding many of them into the show pen for their very first competitions. A trusted part of our performance lesson program since 2018, Sugar has played an important role in developing the confidence and skills of new riders. Sugar does not currently require maintenance. She is remarkably sound with great feet and an easy keeper staying fat on alfalfa! A beautiful, heavy bodied mare with loud markings, she’s as beautiful to look at as she is to ride. Despite being extremely loved by our program, Sugar is officially retiring from her lesson horse position. She’s ready to enjoy being a one person horse. Sugar stalls and hauls well to weekend shows and regularly places in the youth walk-trot, youth, and novice amateur classes at the Open Ranch shows. Everyone’s favorite lesson horse; Sugar extends and collects at all gates. With plenty of time in the show pen as well as on the trail, Sugar will make a fancy partner for a youth or senior rider. While she rides her best being ridden to her full potential, she remains kind and patient on a loose rein with novice riders. Easy to be around good for the farrier and vet. Hops right on the trailer and backs off willingly. Sugar will follow her handler around without the use of a halter making her an excellent lead line horse for littles and allows them to feel like they’re riding hands free while learning to walk and trot. With plenty of life in her Sugar can be ridden daily and continue to compete; we are looking for a horseman to treat our girl right and enjoy her into her late years ideally a weekend show home that will keep her in shape working and riding to her full potential.
