Prince of Ivory, affectionately known as Luke around the barn, is a stunning golden palomino gelding! Luke is undoubtedly a barn favorite and loved by our entire family. Luke is registered with the TWHBEA, foaled on June 30, 2012. He is currently 13 years old but turns 14 later this summer. Luke stands 15hh with a nice, sturdy build that makes him comfortable to ride. He has beauty, brains, and tons of real-life experience! There are some horses that are pure, and there’s no better way to describe them. Luke is one of those!

If you have made it this far, I am ready to tell you more in-depth about Luke as an individual! I love the TWH breed! I think Luke is a great example of the breed’s natural ability and versatility. Luke naturally moves smoothly from a flat walk, running walk, up to a smooth saddle rack, and can move over to a nice canter. He travels the way I like one to travel! Luke is consistent day in and day out and has natural talent. We have ridden him countless trail miles, where he has never failed to keep my family and me safe. I have shown him numerous times at fun shows too; he has always tied in the top 3, even in very large groups. He’s a true trail to rail horse! For nearly the last year, Luke has been on our personal string of horses. There have not been many times, if any, that he wasn’t on our trail rides, camping trips, or weekend shows. He is true, tried, and honest. He has the age and real-life experience that can’t be bought. Luke navigates trails with confidence and experience. He takes his time traveling through rocky and steep terrain. He knows how to use his back end to sit down and carefully go down steep mountains and hills. He will drop his head and work uphill as a true mountain horse should. Puddles, creeks, rocks, downed trees, bridges, etc., are also a breeze for him. Luke is not bothered by passing traffic, dogs, wildlife on the trail, or the commotion at shows. He is not rattled by much of anything. Luke has no issue with riding alone or in a group. He will ride front, back, or middle. Day rides, camping trips, fun shows, alone or with your friends, it’s all ok and fun with Luke. He is easy to catch, groom, blanket, tack up, and loads and unloads from any trailer like a dream. He is excellent for the vet and farrier as well. Luke is a people’s horse and loves attention! He has spent a lot of time being ridden in KY and TN. He has been ridden throughout Big South Fork, Daniel Boone National Forest, and the Red River Gorge area, among others. Luke will stand on a mounting block, or most anything you can find to use, lol. He rides great, tacked or just as good bareback. He is used to wearing a tail croup and carrying saddlebags. This is consistency. Year after year. Trail after trail. Not hype but proven!

Luke is definitely special to our family, and the hard-to-find kind of horse. We have known him since he was a yearling. Some friends of ours owned him most of his life before I acquired him. They loved and used him until life got busy, priorities changed, and they decided to sell out. We have loved him just as much and enjoyed every day of having him. Now I am sure you are thinking, ” Why is he for sale? Simple. My family and I each have other personal horses, young horses needing time and work, and newborn foals. We are ready to hand the reins over to someone else who will truly appreciate him as much as we have. Luke has toted the kids around in a lead line, ridden double, given my dad numerous enjoyable rides, been used as a guest horse, etc. Even better, he has never failed to be sensible, and he is always forward and enjoyable for me to take out and ride myself. I consider him a family-type horse, at least he has been for us. Ride him consistently or take a few weeks off; it does not matter. He is broke and honest every time. At the end of the day, a horse is a horse, but I think he acts with honest intent daily! With all of that said, I would love to find Luke his perfect person! I know what he is; I know how hard they are to replace, and he will cost something to leave our farm.

Let’s talk care! Luke is an easy keeper and has been simple to care for. He has been dewormed with ivermectin both spring and fall. He has routine farrier work; shoes are reset every 8-10 weeks. His teeth were floated on 4-7-26, and osteo bodywork was done that day. He has a current negative Coggins dated 3-13-26. Last but not least, he had a health check on 6-2-26 and received his core vaccinations. He is fed one scoop of tribute and one scoop of sweet feed per day. He has unlimited access to water, mixed grass hay, and light grass.

We have compiled a large amount of video footage so you can meet Luke virtually. Throughout the video, you will see pictures and videos from his time with us. I am happy to take calls and texts with any further questions you may have about Luke. Serious inquiries are welcome to schedule an appointment to meet him in person during the duration of the auction. I look forward to hearing from you and pairing Luke with his person!
