Percheron Paint Cross Trail Driving Lesson Mare

Meet Pepsi she is a 14.2 hand Percheron Paint cross Mare and at the perfect age of 7yrs old. Still young, but old enough to have been there and done that. She both rides and drives! And she is very safe both ways. She is also nice a stocky and can easily carry a bigger rider.

And not only that you get a surprise in June 2026 that is when she is due to have a nice Gypsy foal. She has been ultrasounded in foal. The sire is a registered 15 hand tall Gypsy and very handsome gray color. So, the baby could be a beautiful dapple gray or come out black and white like Pepsi. Either way it’ll be a very nice cross and eligible for Gypsy sport horse papers. Pepsi is a good mom has had a few babies already and each baby is nice and stocky with feathers. And she takes great care of them.

So, for driving and riding I would consider her advanced beginner safe. She does NOT spook easily in fact I haven’t found anything that really phases her. She is totally traffic safe she has seen loads of traffic and doesn’t blink an eye at semis coming up behind her or at her.

DRIVING: She stands still for hitching, stop signs/lights, getting on and off the cart. She knows the words easy, trot, walk on, and whoa. She doesn’t care a bit about traffic. She has a 12 yr old beginner driver behind her driving her for most of the video clips you will see in her video. And she’s been driven by younger kids than that, so she is very safe under harness. You could almost put her in self drive mode she can read most stop signs. And she’s easy on the lines and can side pass over in the cart to make sharp turns.

RIDING: She is excellent under saddle she’s a NO fuss NO muss type of gal. She has been there and done that. I would consider her kid safe all the way up to grandma safe. She has absolutely NO bad habits or vices. She takes care of her rider and again she does NOT spook easily.

She has an easy to post to trot and a VERY smooth canter. So smooth that she’s the go to horse to teach someone how to sit a canter because hers is effortless to sit to. Very nice rocking chair lope.

She will cross anything you ask nothing phases her. She crosses big logs, creeks, rivers, little wooden bridges, and big bridges with guardrails. She’s basically a horse that you point and she goes. She has been there and done that a hundred times over.

She is a very versatile horse and checks all the boxes. You can’t go wrong with Pepsi and I would say if you can’t ride/drive her you shouldn’t own any horses. That’s how easy she is to get along with. In the video the boy that is riding her is an advanced beginner rider and you can see how easy it is for him to ride her.

And the other thing I love about her is she is sensible. She doesn’t get excited if the other horses leave her behind. They can take off ahead of her and she’ll stay walking. She will leave home alone fine. And rides fine in a group front, back, or middle. She will also separate out on the trail.

She has great ground manners and loads right in the trailer and backs right out. She stands still for mounting. She’s easy to catch has a nice friendly personality. Gets along out in the pasture I would say maybe middle of the pecking order. She’s an easy keeper NO maintenance required.

She is up to date on everything vet exam, shots, wormings, coggins, and farrier. Just give a call if you have any questions or want to come see her.
