Dice is a 5 year old Percheron x Paint gelding standing 16.2 hands high. This is the type of horse I am suggesting to 99% of our clients because he is the perfect mix of safety, beauty, and ability. Dice is a simple and enjoyable mount to take lessons on, go to clinics and fun shows, or to take out to hunt. He is sturdy and gentle enough for the husband or guests to trail ride on, and has the personality that everyone just loves. He’s just the right mix of athletic ability and steady eddy, which is sometimes a hard thing to find in a draft cross. If you want to do some eventing or dressage, he can. And if you want to throw a timid beginner on in a lesson or trail ride, you can do that too.

In the ring, Dice is quiet and easygoing. His gaits are comfortable and very easy to sit, and he is the perfect mix of whoa and go. He doesn’t feel like a heavy draft horse, but also never feels like he’s going to go faster than you want him to. He picks up both leads, will carry himself round in the bridle when asked, and has great brakes. He is tolerant of all types of riders and can be trusted with beginners and timid riders alike. He is so much fun on the cross country course, and pops over anything that’s asked of him. He has seen all of the fences in hunt country; coupes, logs, walls, banks, and ditches.

Off property and on the trails, Dice is a superstar. He’s gone on various trips to lessons, trail rides, clinics, and to school. He has quickly become a favorite in dressage lessons, and gets attention anywhere he goes! On the trails, he crosses all water, bridges, tunnels, and varying terrain. He is safe in traffic, and rides through town like a pro. Dice may lack the speed for a first flight horse in a fast moving hunt, but absolutely has the brains and foundation to go in other fields or be a steady hill top partner. He has been exposed to hounds, and ridden through hunt country.

In the barn, Dice is everyone’s favorite. He is Mr. Personality! He loves people, and loves attention. In the pasture, he’s the first to the gate to greet you, and he will follow you around like a puppy dog around the farm. Dice is happy living inside or out, and gets along well with his pasture mates.
