Meet Blue Admiral, he’s a 1/2 Quarter Horse 1/2 Percheron cross gelding standing at 15.1 hands tall and still growing. Admiral has a lot of training and experience under his cinch and is ready to take it further with his next human. He’s 3 years old, coming up on 4 years soon. The resume of this guy is quite impressive. Admiral’s resume includes… LIBERTY RANCHING TRAIL MASTER And DRIVING Single or double Admiral checks a lot of boxes, and he’s not done yet. He is ready to take it to the next level, and he has the brains and the know-how to do it. Just check out his video, read his description, you won’t be disappointed, and he has the color to boot. You won’t believe how many people have to stop us to comment on his looks! DRIVING: You can drive him both single or double. He stands excellently for hitching, getting on/off the cart, stop signs, and stop lights. He is fine with the traffic. He has seen bikes, motorcycles, semis, etc. He is easy to handle on the lines. Knows the commands’ whoa’, ‘easy’, and ‘back’. RIDING: he has had liberty work done with him, and as you can see, he took right to it. You can ride him around right off of your legs and seat without a bridle. He’ll also lie down for you to get on. He also side passes over to the mounting block. And he’s very puppy dog friendly, easy to catch out in the field. RANCHING: He has also been used for ranch work and will head or heel. He’s been used for roping cows and calves, but only a couple of bulls. He has the power to hold them, too, with his draftiness. He has had a rope all over him under his tail, around his legs, and he’ll always stay calm. He doesn’t get flustered if he gets caught up in a rope; he’ll wait for you to release him. Very solid for ranch work, he’s not a fancy reining horse, but he can hold his own for getting the job done. You can open and close gates from his back. He hobbles as well. Loads right into the trailer and backs out just fine, hauling well. He gets along in the herd, low to middle of the pecking order. He’s an easy keeper, still growing, too, so he could get up to 16 hands yet. He is more whoa than go under saddle or harness. You need Spurs if you want any speed from him. He can be lazy, so he does get that from the draft side of things. But he’s not overly drafty, he’s built more like a nice old-style foundation bred quarter horse. However, he has nice, thick legs, big feet, and a very solid build, which allows him to carry a larger rider easily. He moves off your legs, really rides nicely around the arena without a bridle. He knows how to move his shoulders, hindquarters, side pass, and takes both correct leads. TRAIL: He is a trail king! He will go anywhere I point him, without question. He’ll master those steep banks or hills. He is very careful in how he picks his way down a steep bank. He will go in any water, whether it be a creek, pond, or the river. He has had deer jump out and other critters on the trail, and he’s fine with it. He’ll cross any log or bridge along the way. He can ride out alone or in a group. He will leave and separate from the other horses without a fuss. He has a very solid mind and excellent manners. Because he hobbles, it makes it easy if you want to go camping with him. He has also been used to lead other horses. He is just an amazing horse; he has a LOT of time in the saddle and under harness, and it shows. He’s still a young horse, but if you are looking for a young horse to go further with, he is your guy. Just think, if he’s this good now, imagine what he’s going to be in another couple of years. He has the mind, he has the build, the looks, and the training. Don’t miss out, you’ll regret it if you do. He’s up to date on Coggins, vet checks, shots, wormings, and farrier care. Please call if you have any questions or would like to schedule a time to visit him.
