We help you bring this Mustang from the USA to Germany – you are not alone in this journey!
This beautiful red dun gelding was born in 2020 at a rescue center and originally hails from the Antelope HMA in Nevada. Bacardi was born in a rescue facility, and we were able to save him just in time from a kill pen.
The young Mustang is allowed to travel to Germany in June and is now looking for people who will show him the world with patience and fairness.
A kill pen refers to sales yards in the USA where horses are quickly resold after purchase at auctions or from private owners. These horses often have only a very short window of 1–2 weeks to find a new home before being resold or, in the worst case, transported to slaughter. Increasingly, Mustangs are affected, partly due to the Bureau of Land Management’s “Adoption Incentive Program,” which provides financial incentives to American adopters. After the mandatory holding period, some of these horses are unfortunately relinquished again.
Information about the Mustang:
Due to overpopulation, 15,000–20,000 wild horses are captured annually in the USA and placed in rescue centers.
Currently, nearly 62,000 Mustangs and wild donkeys are waiting in these facilities for a new chance.
As American Mustang Germany, we have been importing American Mustangs from the USA since 2015 and placing them in various European countries. So far, around 600 Mustangs have been given the opportunity for a new life and found wonderful homes! We also rescue Mustangs from slaughter transports every year and aim to raise awareness about the overall situation in America.
Thanks to our extensive importing experience, a network of experienced trainers in the USA and Europe is available to support you on this special journey to your new companion. We assist not only with the import process but also provide ongoing advice, support, and personal guidance.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email with the horse’s name at info@american-mustang.de!

Bacardi urodził się w schronisku, a my właśnie udało się go uratować przed transportem do rzeźni.
Młody mustang będzie mógł wyjechać do Niemiec już w czerwcu i szuka ludzi, którzy z cierpliwością i uczciwością pokażą mu świat.
Szczególnie coraz częściej dotyczy to mustangów, m.in. w ramach programu „Adoption Incentive Program” prowadzonym przez Bureau of Land Management, w którym amerykańscy adoptujący otrzymują premię finansową.
