If your idea of the perfect fall is crisp mornings, golden afternoons, and miles of beautiful trails beneath you, then you need a Bravo in your life. He’s the perfect beer-drinkin’, trail-blazin’, genuinely fun-to-ride kind of gelding — and yes, he’ll even drink a beer with you.
Standing 14.3½H and still maturing, this attractive 5-year-old gelding is expected to finish around a solid 15H. He is every bit as kind as he is handsome, with the sort of uncomplicated personality that makes a day in the saddle feel less like work and more like something you simply never want to end.
​Bravo isn’t a performance horse, and he doesn’t pretend to be one. He doesn’t have fancy buttons or big athletic ambitions. What he does have is something that is becoming increasingly hard to find — a genuine love for the trail and an adventurous personality that makes exploring new places enjoyable.
He will quietly cross water, walk over bridges, step over fallen logs, and take whatever the trail puts in front of him in stride. His ground-covering walk is smooth and comfortable, with the kind of easy rhythm that makes you want to sit in the saddle all afternoon. If your perfect ride involves getting lost down a beautiful trail rather than chasing the clock, Bravo may very well be your kind of horse.
He has been extensively hauled since he was a youngster, attending roping practices where he was tied to the fence rather than roped off of, riding in different arenas, going on trail outings, and experiencing all sorts of new environments. He loads and hauls well and is comfortable away from home. He has been ridden downtown, stopped at Sonic for a quick snack, and even ponied alongside a backhoe tractor. Bravo takes new experiences in stride and genuinely seems to enjoy seeing what’s around the next corner.
In the arena, he has a basic walk, trot, and canter and is perfectly content to do his job. But his real calling is outside on the trail. He is the horse you take when you want to enjoy the ride, soak in the scenery, and spend time with your horse rather than fussing over every stride.
And then there’s his personality. Bravo is the never-met-a-stranger type — friendly, affectionate, and absolutely convinced that everyone he meets is there specifically to give him scratches and cookies. He loves attention and will happily stand around being loved on all day. Give a whistle and he’ll come looking for you, often ready to shove his face directly into the halter. He wants to be your buddy, your best friend, and your partner.
He is easy to catch in the pasture, good in a stall, enjoys his baths, and has no known vices. He has never offered to buck or displayed any naughty behavior. He is simply a goofy, kind-hearted good boy who wants to please his person.
Bravo was purchased directly from his breeder in April of 2023 and has had one owner since. His birthdate is confirmed as May 2021. He will sell grade and is being offered with a current veterinary statement of soundness and a fresh set of X-rays. He is current on his Coggins and dental care, and his feet were freshly done on 8/12.
Bravo is the kind of horse that reminds you why you ride in the first place. Not because you need to win something or chase a ribbon, but because there is something pretty special about swinging a leg over a good horse, pointing him down the trail, and knowing you’re going to have a good day.
Some horses are made to win ribbons. Bravo is made to make memories.
